This site is the personal website of Troop 100 Seattle and is reflective only of its personal views, thoughts, and opinions. This site does not have the endorsement of the Boy Scouts of America, and it is not an official communication channel of the Boy Scouts of America.

Site Administration — troop100seattle.com has at least two administrators who have access to the login, password, and page management/monitoring information of this site. This site conforms to the two-deep leadership policies of the BSA. At least one of these page administrators should be a BSA employee, a local council employee, or registered volunteer who has taken Youth Protection training. All Youth Protection policies that govern the use of email are applicable to the use of the messaging capabilities of this site.

Your privacy is very important to us.  This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for Troop 100.  Because Troop 100 wants to demonstrate its commitment to your privacy, we have agreed to disclose our information practices. This website has agreed to notify you of:

  • What personally identifiable information of yours or third party personal identification is collected from you through the website.
  • The organization collecting the information.
  • How the information is used.
  • With whom the information may be shared.
  • What choices are available to you regarding collection, use and distribution of the information.
  • The kind of security procedures that are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under Troop 100 control.
  • How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

If you feel that Boy Scout Troop 100 is not abiding by its posted privacy policy, you should first contact the admin by email if you have any questions.  The admin will work to resolve your concerns.  If you still have any remaining concerns you can contact the Troop ScoutMaster.  Rest assured we will do whatever we can to resolve your concerns.

Information Collection and Use

Troop 100 is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. We do not collect information from visitors at our website.

Policies for Youth Under 17 Years Of Age

This organization has used COPPA, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, as its standard in this area. You can read the details on compliance at http://www.coppa.org/comply.htm. 

Under no circumstances will we ever knowingly give out any information about anyone under the age of 17. We do not collect, rent, sell, or solicit information about youth, nor are we interested in receiving any.  Youth have complete access to all information published online at this website.  No personal identifiable information about a youth is posted outside the password protected confines of this site.  Full names are never used, especially associated with pictures of Scouts or youths on the Home Page or the About Pages.  Youths, when referred to in text unassociated with pictures are always addressed by first name and maybe last initial only – consistent with Chief Seattle Council BSA website guidelines.

All videos/images should adhere to recommended Youth Protection policies and should protect the privacy of individual Scouts. Additionally, all videos/images should show Scouts and leaders following designated appropriate guidelines and wearing proper attire for whatever activity is being undertaken in the video/image. All safety and Youth Protection policies must be followed for any Scouting activities, including those being captured on video/image.

Troop 100 makes every reasonable effort to avoid plagiarism by using content generated by the Troop. If supplemental content is needed, the Troop looks to materials from BSA, the Chief Seattle Council and the Aurora district or sources readily available in the public domain. If content is not procured from one of these sources, permission will be sought and/or content will be cited. 

Commercialism

We don’t allow ads on Troop 100’s site. We do not engage in any fund-raising activities not previously approved by the Chief Seattle Council. Troop 100 does not conduct independent sales, solicitation, OR collection of donations as prohibited by our bylaws and charter agreements.

  1. The content of the Troop 100 site is appropriate to the Scouting movement.
  2. The Troop 100 site does not link to any sites that contain material that is not appropriate to the Scouting movement.
  3. The Troop 100 site does not contain any advertisements or commercial endorsements.
  4. The Troop 100 site does not engage in the electronic sale of BSA Supply Division merchandise or competing products.
  5. The Troop 100 site does not replicate any BSA publication currently for sale through the Supply Division.
  6. This site abides by all laws regarding copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property, and by those pertaining to the Internet.
  7. This site considers the safety and privacy of their members and participants by obtaining the necessary permissions to release information about or images of any individual.
  8. This site does not engage in fund-raising except as directly approved by, and under the supervision of, the Chief Seattle Council.

Notification Of Changes

If Troop 100 decides to change this privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it.  If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email.  Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
