November Scout Trip: Canoe the Skagit River, 11/15–16

posted in: Monthly Camp Out
Join us for an Eagle watching adventure from Marblemount to
Rockport on the Skagit River. The 10- mile canoe trip will go through the
largest Bald Eagle wintering grounds in the lower 48 states.

To sign up for
this trip, make a check payable to Troop 100 for $25.00 and send it to Lance
Pettit. The deadline is October 30th.

The plan is to float the Skagit on Saturday and camp at Howard
Miller’s Steelhead Park in Rockport. We’ll have some time on Saturday and
Sunday to explore the Skagit River Interpretive Center and hike the Wildlife
Trail.
At this time of year, this part of the Skagit River is rated a
class 1 for beginners. We’ll do canoe and equipment training at the first two
troop meetings in November. The scouts will camp and cook by patrols as usual.
More details to follow at the troop meetings.
