Family Camp<\/h1>\n

\nCamp Casey Conference Center
\nFort Casey, Whidbey Island<\/h2>\n

Plan to camp for the whole weekend, or camp Saturday night, or just come up for the day. Planned activities occur on Saturday. We conduct our annual auction to raise funds. Scouts get to select from some great items earned through our Scout Bucks<\/a> program. We’ll have our June Court of Honor<\/a> on Saturday evening, and plenty of time to just hang out and enjoy each other’s company.<\/p>\n

Location<\/h3>\n

Camp Casey Campground (run by Seattle Pacific University) on Whidbey Island. (Please note, this is not Fort Casey State Park.) Link to Map & Directions<\/a>. If coming up on Saturday, take an early ferry – they get backed up for the day very early on.<\/p>\n

Camping<\/h3>\n

This is car camping at its best. The campground has flush toilets and showers, and you drive right up to your groomed camp site. (Link here to the campground map<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Don’t let lack of equipment prevent you from spending the night (or two). Troop 100 has gear to loan out.<\/p>\n

Food<\/h3>\n

The Troop will provide dinner on Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning. And we can certainly use help – so plan on pitching in with meal prep and clean-up. You will need to plan for your own food for all other meals.<\/p>\n

Scout Bucks\"scout_bucks\"<\/a><\/h3>\n

Scout Bucks are earned for participating in various activities and achievements. At the end of the year, the points are added up. It is at Family Camp when Scouts get to choose items from a table in order of descending “bucks”. There is always plenty of great gear—tents, back-packs, stoves, camp chairs, etc. More information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Parent Auction<\/h3>\n

We would appreciate if each scout family would provide an item for the Parent<\/a> Auction. Some past auction items have been a Steak Dinner hosted by Sean Harvey, Puget Sound Salmon and Crab Fishing Charter<\/a> hosted by the Trainer Family, Smoked Salmon by Ken Dunkelberg, handcrafted items like knitted hats and jewelry, homemade jams and pies, select wines, and gift baskets.<\/p>\n

If you’re donation is a gift certificate sort of item, we ask you to please write up a certificate letter with all the specifics, including contact information, etc.<\/p>\n

Let Joanne Hughes<\/a> know what you’d like to donate. If you can not attend Family Camp, she is also will to transport your item for you up to Family Camp. Please contact her to make arrangements.<\/p>\n

And remember, bring your checkbook! There are always lots of great things donated you will be sure to bid on. And if you win, you can settle your account right away.<\/p>\n

Court of Honor<\/h3>\n

We will have our June Court of Honor<\/a> on Saturday night. Rank advancement<\/a>s and merit badge<\/a>s will be awarded and the new SPL<\/a> announced. All scouts need to wear Class A<\/a> uniforms. Please contact Advancement Chair<\/a> Steve Pierce<\/a> if you have blue card<\/a>s to turn in or need to schedule a board of review<\/a>.<\/p>\n
