{"id":1383,"date":"2015-10-15T09:29:24","date_gmt":"2015-10-15T16:29:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/troop100seattle.com\/?p=1383"},"modified":"2015-10-15T09:29:24","modified_gmt":"2015-10-15T16:29:24","slug":"youth-protection-policy-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/troop100seattle.com\/?p=1383","title":{"rendered":"Youth Protection Policy Change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year the Chief Seattle Council Executive Board passed a resolution requiring leaders to renew their <a href=\"https:\/\/troop100seattle.com\/?encyclopedia=youth-protection-training\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers. &nbsp;Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer&rsquo;s Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be re-registered.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">youth protection training<\/a> annually. This policy change will ensure that volunteers stay up-to-date on changes that occur regularly to the <a href=\"https:\/\/troop100seattle.com\/?encyclopedia=bsa\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Boy Scouts of America\" class=\"encyclopedia\">BSA<\/a>&rsquo;s youth protection guidelines.<br>\nVolunteers renewing their membership with the BSA for 2016 this fall will need to ensure that their youth protection training is no older than 2\/28\/2014. Any youth protection date taken before 2\/28\/2014 are considered expired. Volunteers will need to re-take the training in order to be carried forward into 2016 on their unit&rsquo;s roster.<\/p>\n<p>Next year this new policy will catch up with us. During the fall of 2016, when volunteers are renewing their membership with the BSA at <a href=\"https:\/\/troop100seattle.com\/?encyclopedia=charter\" target=\"_self\" title=\"The Boy Scouts of America was granted a federal charter in 1916 to provide a program of character development, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness for all boys. The BSA issues charters annually to approved community organizations to operate&hellip;\" class=\"encyclopedia\">charter<\/a> renewal time, anyone with a youth protection training date older than one year will need to re-take their training.<\/p>\n<p>Which trainings are effected?
