The following lists have&nbsp;been compiled from a variety of sources and represent the type of clothing and&nbsp;equipment that is generally thought to be necessary for camping in cold or inclement&nbsp;weather.<\/p>\n<p>It is neither necessary nor advisable for&nbsp;<a class=\"encyclopedia\" title=\"Parent implies Parent or Guardian of the Scout\" href=\"http:\/\/troop100seattle.com\/wiki\/parent\/\" target=\"_self\">parent<\/a>s or scouts to go out and&nbsp;purchase everything on &nbsp;the following lists. However, each Scout should have the 10 Essentials on each and every outing. In addition, there are certain items that have no&nbsp;place on a scouting trip - possession of any of the items listed under the 10 Non-Essentials will not be tolerated on Troop 100 activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-355-1\" class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\"><div id=\"pgc-355-1-0\" class=\"panel-grid-cell\"><div id=\"panel-355-1-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_text panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"3\"><div class=\"panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-355-1-0-0\"><h3 class=\"widget-title\">The TEN Essentials<\/h3>\t\t\t<div class=\"textwidget\"><p>These are items which are necessary for survival and should be brought on any hike or overnight&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Pocketknife<\/li>\n<li>First-aid kit<\/li>\n<li>Extra clothing (see list)<\/li>\n<li>Rain gear (see list)<\/li>\n<li>Water bottle (1 Qt)<\/li>\n<li>Flashlight\/Headlamp<\/li>\n<li>Trail food<\/li>\n<li>Matches and fire starters<\/li>\n<li>Sun protection<\/li>\n<li>Map and compass<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-355-1-1\" class=\"panel-grid-cell\"><div id=\"panel-355-1-1-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_text panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"4\"><div class=\"panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-355-1-1-0\"><h3 class=\"widget-title\">The TEN Non-Essentials<\/h3>\t\t\t<div class=\"textwidget\"><p><span> These are items&nbsp;are NOT welcome on any Troop outing or trip. Possession of any of these items may result in disciplinary action.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span>Fireworks of any kind<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Firearms (except as part of a planned&nbsp;activity when they are in possession of adult leaders except when in use)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Alcohol<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Tobacco<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Other drugs (Prescription drugs must be given to one of the adult leaders)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Radios, CD Players, Tape Recorders, iPods, MP3 players<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Handheld gaming devices (DS, iTouch, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Sheath Knives<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Pets<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Anything else that may result in a&nbsp;problem or injury<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-355-2\" class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\"><div id=\"pgc-355-2-0\" class=\"panel-grid-cell\"><div id=\"panel-355-2-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_text panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"5\">\t\t\t<div class=\"textwidget\">The troop has enough tents so that every scout who wishes to participate on an outing can go. We also have a supply of stoves, cooking utensils, etc. to outfit each <a href=\"https:\/\/troop100seattle.com\/?encyclopedia=patrol\" target=\"_self\" title=\"A group of five to eight boys who belong to a troop and work together in and out of troop meetings. There are usually several patrols in one troop.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">patrol<\/a>.
