Troop 100 is establishing a tradition of working with the Civil War cemetery on Capitol Hill over the Memorial Day weekend. It consists of three events:
- Service project on Saturday, May 28 at 10:00 am, including placing flags at headstones (two hour commitment)
- Flag raising and ceremony on Monday, May 30 (about one hour)
- Flag lowering and removal of the smaller flags on the evening of May 30 (a smaller affair – about 45 minutes).
The adult lead will work with the SPL and the Friends of the G.A.R. Cemetery to make sure all three events go smoothly. Ethan Rogers was the adult lead last year and will help you organize this year, but may not be available during that weekend.
